    Betnovate lotion 0.1% 0.122% w/w 100ml Why do I need this medicine? Betamethasone helps relieve inflammation and itch that may occur with certain skin problems.

    Betamethasone belongs to a group of medicines called steroids.
  • Directions

    How do I use this medicine? Apply Betamethasone exactly as directed by your doctor. Do not apply more often or over a larger area than instructed by your doctor. Do not use for a longer period of time than instructed by your doctor.

    Wash and dry your skin gently before applying Betamethasone.

    If you have been given Betamethasone Cream or Ointment, apply a thin layer sparingly to the affected area as directed by your doctor. Rub it in gently until it disappears.

    If you have been given Betamethasone Lotion, apply a few drops to the affected area as directed by your doctor. Massage it gently into the skin or scalp until it disappears.

    Do not cover, wrap or bandage the area, unless instructed by your doctor.

    Do not apply Betamethasone near the eye area. If Betamethasone accidentally gets into your eyes, flush your eyes with clean water immediately.

    Do not apply on a child's skin unless instructed by the child's doctor. If you are applying Betamethasone on your child, do not use tight-fitting diapers or non-breathable materials.

    Do not use Betamethasone for anything else other than the purpose instructed by your doctor. What should I do if I have forgotten to use this medicine? Apply the missed dose as soon as you remember.

    DO NOT double a dose under any circumstances. Can I use this with other medicines? Inform your doctor if you are using any other creams, ointments or lotions on the affected area.

    Always inform your doctor and pharmacist if you are taking any other medicines, including herbal tonics, supplements and medicines that you buy without a prescription. How should I store this medicine? Store in a cool, dry place away from the reach of children.

    Medicines must not be used past the expiry date.
  • Warnings

    When should I not use this medicine? Alert your doctor if you are pregnant or become pregnant while being treated with Betamethasone.

    Let your doctor know if you are breastfeeding. Do not apply Betamethasone on the nipples if you are breastfeeding.

    Do not apply on skin that is broken or infected. Do not apply on skin that is discharging fluid or pus.

    Do not apply on your face, groin or armpits unless instructed by your doctor. What should I take note of while using this medicine? Alert your doctor if you have diabetes or any other medical conditions.

    Betamethasone may make your skin more sensitive to sunlight. Avoid exposing the affected area to sunlight.

    Do not apply Betamethasone to large areas of your skin.

    Alert your doctor if your condition does not improve or worsens.

  • Side Effects

    What side effects could I experience? Betamethasone may cause skin irritation such as a tingling or itching sensation, dry skin, peeling, pimples, thinning of the skin and small changes in skin tone.

    These side effects are usually not common and are not a cause for worry, especially if you are using Betamethasone for only a short period of time.

    Stop using Betamethasone and see your doctor again if the skin irritation does not go away.
