Nurofen plus contains a combination of ibuprofen and codeine. Ibuprofen is a Non-Steriodal-Anti-Inflammatory Drug or NSAID which acts by blocking production of chemicals that cause pain and inflammation in tissues of the body.

Codeine is an opioid painkiller that works directly on pain receptors.

These two ingredients combine to give a powerful response to pain symptoms.

Adults and children over 12 years: Take One or two tablets with water every 4 to 6 hours if necessary. Leave at least 4 hours between doses and do not take more than six tablets in 24 hours. Not recommended in children under 12 years of age. Always read the information provided on the enclosed Patient Information Leaflet before taking this medicine. DO NOT EXCEED THE STATED DOSE

Please avoid taking this product if you have a stomach ulcer, perforation or bleeding of the stomach, a history of breathing difficulties or asthma, chronic constipation, are taking any other NSAID pain killers, are under 12 years of age or in the last 3 months of pregnancy, or allergic to aspirin and any of its ingredients. THIS PRODUCT IS FOR SHORT TERM USE ONLY. MAY CAUSE DROWSINESS - IF AFFECTED DO NOT DRIVE OR OPERATE MACHINERY.

The following side effects may occur whilst taking nurofen plus : Skin rash, gastric irritation, bleeding in the stomach, nausea, dizziness, headache or dyspepsia. Codeine may cause constipation. Consult your G.P or pharmacist if you experience any of these side effects.
