    Betahistine hydrochloride tablets 8mg Why do I need this medicine? Betahistine is used to treat vertigo (giddiness), tinnitus (ringing in the ears) and hearing loss in Meniere's disease.

    Betahistine helps to improve the blood circulation within the ear.
  • Directions

    How do I take this medicine? Take Betahistine exactly as directed by your doctor. Do not take more or less than instructed by your doctor.

    You may need to take Betahistine for some time before the full benefits can be felt. Continue to take it even when you feel better and do not stop taking it unless advised by your doctor to do so.

    Betahistine may be taken with or without food. You may take Betahistine with food to reduce any stomach discomfort that it may cause.

    What should I do if I have forgotten to take this medicine? Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and return to your normal dosing schedule.

    DO NOT double a dose under any circumstances.

    Can I take this with other medicines? Always inform your doctor and pharmacist if you are taking any other medicines, including herbal tonics, supplements and medicines that you buy without a prescription. How should I store this medicine? Store in a cool, dry place away from the reach of children.

    Medicines must not be used past the expiry date.

    When should I not use this medicine? Alert your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Do not breastfeed while being treated with Betahistine.

    Alert your doctor if you suffer from stomach ulcers or a tumour of the adrenal gland known as phaeochromocytoma.

    Betahistine is not meant for children younger than 18 years old. What should I take note of while using this medicine? Inform your doctor if you suffer from asthma or a blood disorder known as porphyria.

    Are there any restrictions on the type of food I can take? Avoid alcohol.
